Two receivers survey the air: a HackRF sweeps 24 MHz to 6 GHz around the clock, and the station's RSP1 sweeps 24 MHz to 1.7 GHz on its better antenna whenever nobody is listening to the live stream. Each catalogues every signal it finds, and then tunes in to one at a time to find out what it is. Amateur, weather and broadcast facts are published; aviation, marine, CB, sensors and broadcast programmes are kept for the station owner; cellular, paging, public safety and government bands are only measured, never listened to.

Signals that come in short bursts, which a sweep rarely catches. One of these runs after every other pass.
